Universities for future work skills 2020

Year: 2018

Principal researcher: Íñigo Cuíñas Gómez

Financing: Unión Europea, Erasmus+

Period: 01/09/2018 - 28/02/2021

This initiative brings together several European universities —from Poland, Romania, Belgium, Spain and Portugal— along with two small and medium-sized enterprises, to enhance student employability by developing transversal soft skills relevant for the labour market. Specifically, the project analysed the needs of companies, students and teaching staff to identify gaps in key skills such as communication, teamwork, adaptability and critical thinking. It then developed a blended training programme (online + face-to-face) including an innovative 36-hour online course and a five-day international intensive study experience for half of the participants. Collaboration between higher education institutions and the business sector was also promoted to better align training content with labour-market requirements.
