Fixed-term contract: 2 months and a half
Work to be performed:
Integration and supervision of different systems for free space quantum communication, both between two stations on the ground and between a ground station and a satellite.
Functions to be performed:
Specific responsibilities and tasks will include, among others:
– Read scientific literature in the field of quantum communication and quantum key distribution (QKD) systems.
– Implementation of a satellite ground station for quantum communication.
– Design and implementation of electronic cards for the system.
– Test of sender and receiver for free space quantum communication.
– Characterization and implementation in the system of the optical components, i.e., laser, single photon detectors, etc
– Implementation of the system for a possible satellite launch.
– Supervision of different possible PhD students in the field of satellite quantum communications.
Required qualifications: Bachelor degree, preferable in the fields of Physics, Optics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
Gross monthly salary: 3.166,66 € (including the apportionments of extra payments)
Workday: 37.5 hours per week
