Contract duration: 6 months
Work to be performed:
Analyze the security of quantum key distribution protocols with device imperfections.
Functions to be performed:
Specific responsibilities and tasks will include, among others:
- Read scientific literature in the field of quantum communication and quantum key distribution (QKD) systems.
- Mathematical modeling of the quantum signals emitted by a QKD transmitter in the presence of imperfections introduced by the laser and/or intensity and phase modulators.
- Perform a finite-key analysis of the security of these systems in the presence of such imperfections.
- Perform numerical simulations on the performance (i.e. secret key rate versus distance) of these systems as a function of the magnitude of the imperfections.
- Write scientific articles
Required qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering
Gross monthly salary: 2.950,00 € (including the apportionments of extra payments)
Workday: 37,50 hours per week
