Carlos Ulloa Sande holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Vigo in 2002 and in Aerospace Engineering from the Universidad Europea de Madrid in 2018. He worked in various engineering and manufacturing companies for almost 10 years. Following this, he pursued his doctorate on the thermal modeling of micro-CHP systems, applied to various types of vehicles. He is currently an Associeated Professor at the School of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Vigo, specializing in Aerospace Engineering.

His research career focuses on the field of energy systems research, as well as dynamic modeling and simulation of propulsion and energy systems. Currently, he is conducting research in the field of renewable energies applied to UAVs and their installations, in collaboration with Dr. Cheng-Xian Lin, conducting different periods of practice as a visiting professor at the Laboratory of Sustainable Energy and Thermal Transport in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Florida International University (Miami). Additionally, he is also engaged in research activities in satellite thermal control systems, participating as a researcher in WiPTherm, a European Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) project, modeling the thermal system of CubeSats in energy supply applications using innovative thermoelectric generators.
