Cross-border collaboration project between Spain and Portugal that seeks to strengthen common systems for the prevention and extinction of large forest fires. Its results will be used to analyze the impact of climate change and adaptation through the prevention and management of landscapes exposed to large fires in cross-border rural areas through agrosilvopastoral landscape management.
atlanTTic´s activity focuses on improving the operation of drones used in support tasks for extinguishing night fires, addressing the problem of the luminous intensity of the flames for thermal cameras. A piloting assistance system will be developed in night fire conditions based on the superposition of cartographic images on those obtained by drone cameras. This layer of assistance will be provided by a satellite information system, and can be activated and deactivated by the pilot during the flight.
The project is made up of a consortium of 21 beneficiaries and is led by the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Sustainable Development of the Government of Andalusia.
