The goal of LifeTEC  is the improvement in the fight against forest fires using communication technologies, to reduce the time of detection of fires and improve the efficiency agents involved in fire-fighting by facilitating communications and geolocation of the same. The project actions will be implemented in the region of Galicia in north-west Spain, and in Arouca, Portugal.

As a result, there are two technologies ready to contribute to the fight against forest fires: a method for the early detection of forest fires from the signals provided by weather radar and a management system based on TETRA (Trans European Trunked Radio) and Android for real-time geolocation of available firefighting resources.
