The project aims to support innovative SMEs (“early adopters”) in the Galicia–Northern Portugal Euroregion in the transfer and valorisation of value-added nanotechnologies.
It establishes a network of research and technology centres collaborating with industry to define new commercially exploitable products and services, thereby addressing the weaknesses identified in the Smart Specialisation Strategy of the region.
Key activities include the development of ten nanotechnology “use cases” and the selection of 22 experimental projects with SMEs to raise technologies from TRL 3-4 up to TRL 7-8.
One applied example is the development of a nanosensor capable of rapid detection of biotoxins in mussels, ready for industrial validation in the cross-border region.
