This project aims to advance the protection of privacy within multimedia content (images, video, audio and text) by developing methodologies and technologies for de‑identification —and, where appropriate, reversible de‑identification— that enable the concealment or removal of personally identifiable information. The initiative mobilises multidisciplinary expertise in biometrics, computer vision, signal processing, law and ethics, and addresses the interdisciplinary challenge of removing personal identifiers while preserving data utility.
