Manuel Fernández Veiga (Ph.D. in Telecommunications Engineering, University of Vigo, 2001) is Associate Professor at the Telematics Engineering Department (UVigo). His main research interests are in information and communication theory, network engineering, and complex systems, with applications in distributed computing, wireless networks or communication protocols, areas in which he has a broad teaching experience both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He has co-authored 50 papers published in international journals, several textbooks (in Spanish), and co-advised 6 Ph.D. theses. He has participated in national R&D projects, international educational projects, and teaching innovation initiatives, and is the co-founder of two spin-offs focused in the areas of digital learning technologies and social networking tools. He is an IEEE senior member.
