Fernando Machado received his degree in Telecommunications Engineering specializing in Electronics and Communications from the University of Vigo in 2000, and he earned his Ph.D. from the same university in 2008. Currently, he is a professor in the Department of Electronic Technology and a member of the Digital Communications and Instrumentation group at the University of Vigo. He is also a member of the atlanTTic research center at the University of Vigo since 2016. His research interests include sensor networks, industrial communications, instrumentation and measurement systems, and wireless communication systems, with his current main research focus being the application of electronic instrumentation systems to the measurement and characterization of the radio channel.
