Carlos Mosquera Nartallo is a Full Professor in the Department of Signal Theory and Communications at the University of Vigo. He holds a Ph.D. in Telecommunications Engineering from the same university and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. He has conducted research stays at the European Space Agency (1999), the University of New Mexico (2007), and the University of York (2013). He is a co-author of over a hundred publications in journals and conferences, as well as two books, and holds several patents in collaboration with industry. In addition to his involvement in organizing various international conferences and special sessions, he has served as a reviewer for different European research agencies. He is a member of the Satellite Network of Experts of the European Space Agency, for which he has worked on various research projects. In the field of satellite communications, his contributions have been recognized with the Best Paper Award at the AIAA International Communications Satellite System Conference in 2012 and at the 7th Advanced Satellite Multimedia Systems Conference in 2014. He was one of the promoters and Director of the Communications area at the Galician Telecommunications Technological Center (Gradiant) for five years, and Director of atlanTTic from 2016 to 2020.
