Antonio Pino García (formerly Antonio García Pino until 2015) graduated as a Telecommunications Engineer in 1985 and earned his Ph.D. in 1989, both from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. From 1985 to 1989, he was a researcher at the Radiation Group at UPM. Since February 1987, he has been a professor at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación de Vigo, being appointed Associate Professor in 1990 and Full Professor in 1995 at the age of 32. In 1993, he conducted research at the Center for Electromagnetics Research at Northeastern University in Boston. His areas of research include shaped reflector antennas for space and terrestrial applications, high-frequency electromagnetic diffraction, computational electromagnetics, Terahertz technology, electromagnetic field exposure, and communications systems. In these areas, he has authored more than 100 articles in international journals and conferences and has supervised 14 doctoral theses.

He has been a Senior Member of the IEEE since 2005. From 2006 to 2010, he served as Vice-Rector for Academic Organization and Faculty. Since 2013, he has been the Director of the International Doctoral School (EIDO), overseeing doctoral studies at the University of Vigo. He has experience in technology transfer, holding 2 patents and a utility model. He has been the principal investigator of 18 research contracts with companies.
