Margarida obtained an integrated master’s degree in Theoretical Physics in 2017 from the University of Glasgow, where she earned first-class honours. Then, she joined the group of Prof. Marcos Curty at the University of Vigo to pursue a PhD in Physics, funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie European Training Network “Quantum Communications for ALL” (QCALL). She graduated in 2021 with distinction and international mention, and received the Extraordinary PhD Award from the University of Vigo. After that, she started working as post-doctoral researcher in the same university. In 2022, she started a one-year JSPS post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Toyama, in the group of Prof. Kiyoshi Tamaki. Since 2023, she is a post-doctoral researcher at the VQCC. Her main research interest in the implementation security of quantum key distribution.
