The DEN6 project proposes an infrastructure that implements a fully functional 5G network to carry out experiments around new handover management protocols, the mobility of Edge applications accompanying user terminals, new dynamic Network Slicing techniques, etc. In addition, the fact that it is implemented with SOR and SON technologies will allow it to be extended in a synchronized way incorporating new technologies (access network with millimeter waves, new architectures for the backhaul and the network core, etc.). With this, the current capabilities in 5G will be expanded with a fully functional end-to-end communication network, which will allow experiments to be carried out with the most advanced functions of the 5G and 6G networks, as well as the study of different communication “verticals” (shopping center, zone residential, forest/rural area, roads, industry, etc.), which proposes to carry out a deployment in a large part of the university campus of Vigo, offering OEN6 users different contours of experimentation together with a population open to participation in experiments (students , teachers, administration staff, etc.).
