Research projects

PROPAGATE is a pioneering project led by the University of Vigo in collaboration with the Spanish State Tax Administration Agency (AEAT), with the aim of creating a secure, encrypted data space for the Spanish Public Administration. The project addresses the legal and technical challenges of information sharing between public institutions through the innovative use of homomorphic encryption and secure multi-party computation, enabling the analysis of sensitive data from different organizations without compromising confidentiality. Data remain encrypted at all times, and only aggregated and authorized results are decrypted, strengthening the protection of citizens’ privacy, improving the quality of public policy analysis, and contributing to a more efficient use of public resources for the benefit of society.
