Full Professor at the Department of Telematics Engineering and researcher at the Information Technologies Group of the University of Vigo. He received his degree in Telecommunications Engineering in 1989 from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and his Ph.D. in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Vigo in 1998. He worked at the Spanish companies Indra and Amper, specializing in embedded systems development. He is a researcher specialized in wireless communication technologies, embedded systems, and real-time systems, areas in which he has published numerous articles in international journals and conferences. He has participated in a multitude of projects funded by the European Union, regional authorities, and the National R&D&I Plan, such as the CENIT mIO! project or the Integrated Project of the Sixth Framework Programme BeInGrid. He has served as the principal investigator for the University of Vigo in a significant number of these projects, such as the CENIT TelMAX project with the company Indra, or the E-IMRT II project (Advanced Planning Systems for radiotherapy using Computational Contours), in collaboration with Gradiant and CESGA, and funded by the Xunta de Galicia.
