Duration of the contract: Indefinite contract.
Work to be performed:
Development and implementation of advanced quantum communication systems for quantum key distribution (QKD) over optical fiber networks. Particular emphasis will be placed on implementation security, including the experimental characterization of practical devices, the verification of theoretical security assumptions under real-world operating conditions, and the analysis of security loopholes arising from device imperfections and implementation constraints.
Functions to be performed:
Duties to be performed. Specific responsibilities and tasks will include, among others:
- Read scientific literature in the field of quantum communication and quantum key distribution (QKD) systems.
- Implementation of novel quantum communication systems in fiber and compatible with free space.
- Design and implementation of electronic cards for the system.
- Simulation of the behavior of the protocol in a fiber channel
- Characterization and implementation in the system of the optical components, i.e. laser, single photon detectors, etc
Required qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
Gross monthly salary: 3.000,00 € (including the apportionments of extra payments)
Workday: 37,5 hours per week
