She has been working at the University of Vigo since 1993, following her time at the University of Valladolid and various stays at Northeastern University (Boston, USA). She is a Telecommunications Engineer (1992) and earned her Ph.D. in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Vigo in 1997. Currently, she is an Associate Professor in the Department of Signal Theory and Communications at UVigo (since 1998). Her research focuses on the analysis and synthesis of antennas and radar detection systems.In addition to her academic role, she collaborates with various entities, including serving as Vice Dean/Vice President of COETG/AETG since May 2017, Secretary of the Board of Directors of Asociación PuntoGal since June 2017, and a Member of the Women and Science Unit of Galicia since 2011. She has held various leadership roles, such as being the Director of the School of Telecommunications Engineering from February 2009 to March 2015, Coordinator of the Telecommunications Engineering Master’s Program at the University of Vigo from March 2015 to August 2017, and Director-General of .GAL from 2014 to 2017. She was also appointed Commissioner for Vigo Tecnolóxico at the University of Vigo from March 2017 to June 2018. Furthermore, she is a co-founder of the Spanish section of WIE (Women in Engineering), a chapter of the IEEE. Apart from being an author and co-author of scientific articles and publications, participating in numerous communications-related research projects, she serves as a reviewer for various scientific journals and ANEP (National Agency for Evaluation and Prospective).
