Thiel, Hannah Celine

Hannah studied experimental physics at the University of Innsbruck in the group led by Gregor Weihs. Working on quantum optics and photonics, Hannah focused on the design, fabrication, and characterization of miniaturized quantum communication devices. During her predoctoral studies Hannah was part of the EU Horizon 2020 project “UNIQORN” where she worked on the on-chip creation and analysis of time-bin entangled photon pairs. In Innsbruck she was involved in setting up the cleanroom and establishing the fabrication of AlGaAs microchips. In 2023 she joined VQCC as a postdoctoral researcher to work on satellite-based quantum communication.
