Vadim received his M.Sc from St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University in 1998. He obtained a PhD degree at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in 2007. After postdoctoral positions at Pohang University of Science and Technology (South Korea) and at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, in 2012 he joined the Institute for Quantum Computing, Waterloo University (Canada) as research Assistant Professor. Since 2018 he is a Chief scientist at the Russian Quantum Center, and Professor at the National University of Science and Technology MISiS in Moscow since 2019. In 2023, he joined the Vigo Quantum Communication Center as group leader of the Quantum Hacking & Certification Lab. His research interest lies in quantum communication, particularly quantum hacking.
