Víctor Zapatero completed his bachelor’s degree in Physics at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2015, and obtained a master’s degree in Theoretical Physics from the same university in 2016. Then, he was granted a FPU scholarship to do a Ph.D. in quantum cryptography at the Universitdade de Vigo, under the supervision of Prof. Marcos Curty. After completing his Ph.D. with Honors in 2021, Víctor started a postdoc position in the same group, which would later on become a part of the VQCC. The main focus of Víctor’s research is the security of quantum key distribution protocols, and he is also interested in the foundations of quantum mechanics.
